On Moon Rocks.

This is kind of a sad story. So, Gizmodo posted an article about missing moon rocks and it really reminded me of my childhood. Low and behold! in the comment section, there’s a description (and a picture!) of the very moon rocks in question!

So my computer teacher in elementary school had some kind of in with NASA. Her name escapes me, probably because she traumatized me.

So I’m about 8 years old, a time when I start what has become a lifelong fascination with astronomy. When the moon rocks come in, I flip my fucking shit. I raise my hand and volunteer to be the first one at the microscope to check it out. I nudge the glass plate a few millimeters because the rocks are out of field, and my teacher lets out this weird whooping noise, proceeds to have a conniption fit, and bans me from the activity. I have to sit in my seat and all my classmates OOO and AHH at the moon rocks.

Anyway, I’m pretty salty about this experience, even to this day. IT’S MOON ROCKS, PEOPLE.
